Dromineer

Dromineer is one of the stopping points for boats on Lough Derg. It has a purpose built pier. The Boat club and Yacht club were founded in 1837 making it the third oldest in the world. The ruins of the castle dominate the harbour. Built by the O'Kennedys in the early 16th C it was given to the Earl of Ormonde in 1556. Today it is a haven for watersport enthusiasts and anglers.
